Tom Hartley RIP
This morning, a much-loved member of the All Hallows community was laid to rest. Tom Hartley was the caretaker when All Hallows opened in 1975. After retirement he stayed in constant touch with the school and would often pop in to see how we were getting on. He very much viewed All Hallows as his “second home”.
After a short illness, Tom passed away peacefully on 7th February 2021 at the age of 91. His Requiem Mass took place this morning at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Penwortham, but due to the current Covid restrictions only family could be present. As a sign of our affection for Tom, and of his loyalty to us, we sent an arrangement of flowers in the design and colours of the school badge.
This morning the funeral cortege drove to All Hallows on its way to the church and many former and current staff “lined the route” to pay respect to Tom, to say a final farewell, and to give thanks for all the love and support he gave our school community over many years.
Rest in peace and rise in glory, Tom. We will miss you very much.
