GCSE Results 2015
Congratulations to the Class of 2015 on their excellent GCSE results.
Thursday 20 August was GCSE results day and at 10.00 a.m. around 180 anxious pupils queued up to receive their ‘envelopes’ with details of their grades. A photographer from the Lancashire Evening Post was present to ‘capture the moment’ and nerves were high! Staff were on hand to offer congratulations and support.
The Class of 2015 were generally delighted with their results, which reflected some really hard work on their behalf. The ‘measures’ against which schools are judged will change for 2016 as we move from attainment to progress. Quite a number of re-marks are being completed at present and we await those results before completing our analysis of the pupils’ performance. It seems clear, however, that around half the year group achieved the English Baccalaureate Standard (this is way above last year’s national average). Expected progress measure in English (76%) and Maths (81%) are also high as is overall attainment of 5+ A*-C grades including English and Maths which currently stands at 74%.
Within those results were some exceptional individual performances. We will be celebrating all the achievements of the Class of 2015 at our annual Certificates Evening which takes place in school on the evening of Thursday 19 November 2015.
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE IN THE CLASS OF 2015 ON YOUR EXCELLENT ACHIEVEMENTS.
