U16 Lancashire National Schools Netball Championships

Massive congratulations to the U16 Netball Team, who have been crowned Lancashire Championship Winners for 2017/2018.  The team were drawn against some tough opposition during the league stages which were held at St Cecilia’s High School on Tuesday 21 November 2017. The girls successfully qualified the league stage, winning all of their matches resulting in the team making it into the semi-finals.  Here they were drawn against Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, one of the toughest oppositions!  They successfully won the game 7-5, taking them through to the finals where they played Haslingden, beating them 12-2.  Well done!  All the girls were a credit to themselves and the school.  Throughout the whole day, they demonstrated sportsmanship and constantly encouraged each other both on and off court.  The squad consisted of:

Year 11 – Taylor De Klerk, Evie Dilworth, Katie Matthews, Madelaine Fish, Hannah Barlow.
Year 10 – Georgina Ayrton-Parker, Erin Bragan, Paige Wilson, Hannah Gray, Hollie Cook.

The girls now go on to represent Lancashire in the Regional Competition to be held in January 2018.
