All Hallows Catholic High School
Friday 29th September was a special day for us at All Hallows as we hosted the live BBC Radio 4 programme ‘Any Questions.’ This was a much anticipated event organised by our Deputy Headteacher Mr McMullen and it certainly lived up to expectations. From the minute the BBC Outside Broadcast unit arrived on Thursday afternoon, a sense of excitement built up as the programme approached. Over 200 members of the audience listened to questions posed to Richard Burgon MP, Rory Stewart MP, the economist Soumaya Keynes and former MP Gisela Stuart. The Chair was, of course Jonathan Dimbleby and the ‘warm up’ guest was Gerald Jackson from BBC Radio Lancashire. It is also really good to report that one of the questions, about University tuition fees, was set by one of our current pupils Isobel Higginson. Many thanks to all our pupils and staff who helped to produce the event and to everyone involved in what was a memorable evening.
