40 years Anniversary Mass
On Tuesday 3rd May 2016, around 500 people gathered in our Sports Hall to take part in our Liturgical celebration of 40 years of education at All Hallows. The Mass was celebrated by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon OP, the Archbishop of Liverpool who was making his first visit to All Hallows. Other priests who concelebrated the mass wre Fr Austin Griffin, Fr Inch(St Teresa’s and St Mary Magdalen’s), Fr Moriarty(Castlerigg), Fr Ilunga(St Oswald’s) and Fr Anders(Our Lady’s, Tarleton).
Pupils from our partner primary schools St Mary Magdalen’s, St Oswald’s, St Teresa’s and Our Lady & St Gerard’s also took part in the celebration as well as many current and former pupils. Our former Headteacher Mr Flynn was in attendance, as were members of the family of our first Headteacher, Mr Melling.
After celebrating our anniversary mass, Archbishop Malcolm led a procession outside where he blessed our new chapel windows, lasting symbols of our 40th anniversary year.
We would like to thank everyone who came along on this very special occasion. Special thanks to Dan our Chaplain and the Chaplaincy team who worked so hard to prepare such a meaningful liturgical experience for all who attended.
Archbishop Malcolm has agreed to join us later in 2016 to visit the school during the day to meet as many of our pupils as possible.
